Hair Pieces - September 17th, 2009

Hair pieces!  Now that’s a discussion to have.  I have never seen a hair piece for a man that looks natural.  We have a man at church that has worn one for years and whenever I am talking to my eight year old and we are referencing him my son will always say, “He is the one with the fake hair, right?”  So if you can convince an 8 year old you won’t be convincing anyone else.  Now I have seen some women’s wigs that look really great.  I can usually tell if I am talking to them for any given amount of time, or if I have to sit behind them.

I have never understood the pull for a man to only fill confidant if they have a full head of hair.  There are many very good looking confidant men that have little to no hair.  I would think it would be a blessing.  Less to have to wash and take care of.  Now hair loss for women is a whole different ball game in my opinion.  There are not very many women that have extreme hair loss so when you do see it on a woman it is different.  I would find something for the prevention of hair loss if I was a woman.

Hair Loss & Self Esteem - September 17th, 2009

When I met my husband I was 18 years old.  He was 23.  He had just started his first little bit of hair loss.  His hair started to become thinner and towards the top of his forehead on the right and left sides his hair line was receding.  I have never cared about those types of things but I think it bothered him more than anything.  Now he is 42 and he doesn’t care that much about hair loss.  I believe that if he could find a product that was proven to work for hair loss he might use it if the price is right.

He would not spend a lot of money on something for hair loss even if it did work.  I have met some men that have a hard time with their hair loss.  You can always tell.  They are the ones with the long comb over.  It’s so crazy to because you can always tell.  What do they think they are trying to do, fool us?  You just want to flip that long hair back over to the other side and grab your scissors real quick and cut it off.  We won’t even start the discussion on hair pieces!

Does Pulling Hair Cause Hair Loss? - September 17th, 2009

After I had my first baby I breast fed for about 6 months.  I still took my prenatal vitamins while I was breast feeding and even after.  As soon as I stopped breast feeding I could not believe the hair loss I experienced.  I would have my hair come out in gobs and gobs.  I would stop up the drain in the shower because of my hair loss.  I’m not sure why this happens.  I also lost a lot of weight quickly after I stopped breast feeding.  Maybe our bodies hold on to the extra weight and our hair might be thicker due to the babies needs.  It might be a defense mechanism for the baby so that he/she will receive all the nutrients that it needs.

I’m not sure but I was really worried that I might not have any hair left after a few weeks of continuous hair down the drain.  The funny thing about it was that after the hair loss was gone my head didn’t really feel any different.  My hair still looked the same.  It makes me wonder if it wasn’t just extra hair all along that I didn’t need so my body just shed it.  Just like the weight.

The Galvanic Spa & Hair Growth - September 16th, 2009

I have the best way to keep hair loss away.  This method is also good for people that already have hairloss.  It is a product that Nu Skin makes.  This product is used with their Galvanic Spa.  The galvanic spa is a great little hand held tool that uses electrical currants.  This spa will take whatever product you are using and makes it 80% better. It gets the product under the epidermis of the skin.  When using the hair product with this galvanic spa it will penetrate the first skin layer and go straight to the hair shaft and repair it so that it will grow better or start growing.  It’s amazing.  If I haven’t seen it with my own eyes I would not believe it.

One of the best testimonials of this hair product and galvanic spa envoles a little girl. She had issues growing hair and her hair was very thin.  Her mother had bought the spa previously for her face and then she learned what it could do for hair so she purchased the hair product and used it on her daughter.  She said that within a few weeks she could tell the thickness improving and the individual hair was healthier and stronger.

Hair loss Shampoo - September 5th, 2009

There are so many shampoos out there it can be so confusing. Well let me tell you first of all this is going to be about all the shampoos you can buy at your local salon. This is because I truly believe that you have to invest in a good shampoo to have your hair the way you want it to be. Now when I say invest I do not mean a ton of money, it will be more expensive than Wal-Mart brand but it will give you results you want and is safer for your hair and will contain the top ingredients. So let’s get started: Many people suffer from dry brittle hair If this is you I recommend Hydrate from Purology.

If you have curly hair you want to get tamed I would tell you to go get Curly Sexy hair from sexy hair concepts. If your hair is thin and needs some volume I would tell you to use the volumizing shampoo from Redken. These are just a few samples of all the shampoos you can get to help you with any problem you might have so go visit your salon and see what you can get.

Home remedies for dry hair - September 2nd, 2009

I was a fourth kid of five and had all bigger sisters and one younger brother so I was the guinea pig for a lot of things my sister wanted to try the worst one I can think of is my sister was trying to find a way to make her hair have more moisture without having to go to a salon and pay for a deep conditioning so she decided to try things on my hair instead of her own to know what worked. She tries everything and when I say everything I mean everything.

First she started with things like oil from the kitchen and mayonnaise and then she went on to bigger and better things like fabric softener and other great things by the time she was done I was so stinky and gross I couldn’t tell you. My hair was so greasy it took me a week of washing every day to wash it out. So let me help you before you ruin your hair if you need an at home remedy for dry hair all you need to do is put your regular conditioner on your hair put on a shower cap and heat it up with your hairdryer for about a minute and then leave it on for twenty minutes. That’s it and your done just wash it out. You can do this about once a month and your hair will be very lush.

Testosterone Deficiency Syndrome - September 1st, 2009

It’s called testosterone deficiency syndrome, and it can negatively impact a man’s life and health in various ways.  It is found in both men and women actually, and it plays an important role in libido and energy levels as a male sex hormone for the most part.  It is active all the lifelong.  But according to some, testosterone levels actively decrease with age.  After you turn 40, they decrease by about 1.2% per year.  In short, over a lifetime or by the time he hits 70, he could lose about 35% of his original testosterone levels.

Men who suffer it could be diagnosed to some degree with what’s called male menopause.  But it results in a loss of sexual desire, ED, poor concentration, increased body fat, fatigue, reduced muscle mass, depression, and hair loss.  1 in every 5 ED patients apparently suffers from this particular disorder.  All in all, testosterone deficiency syndrome is not as common as many would think.  So being bald does not necessarily mean that you have TDS, nor does ED.  Sometimes you can have those conditions independently of each other.  However, if you have TDS, you are probably going to suffer those symptoms.
